At our Neonatology department, we provide dedicated specialized care if your little one arrives earlier than expected or needs extra medical attention. Our neonatology team are here for you and your baby, ensuring that you both receive the best possible care until it’s time to go home.

Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

If your baby requires more intensive care due to a serious medical condition or is critically ill, they are in safe hands with our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team of expert doctors and nurses who work around the clock to provide exceptional specialized care for vulnerable newborns. We know that your baby requiring intensive care is incredibly overwhelming and difficult to deal with, and we’re here for you to give family-focused emotional support and ensure you are kept informed and reassured at all times.

Our level 4 (the highest level of medical care for newborns and premature babies) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit offers state-of-the-art equipment and technology, and its family-centered design is focused on your and your baby’s needs. Our expert neonatologists work collaboratively with other specialists within Dubai Health including maternal fetal specialists and surgeons, to provide all-round monitoring, medical and interventional care for even the most complex neonatal conditions.

National Newborn Screening Program

All babies born at Dubai Health facilities undergo National Newborn Screening within 48 hours of being born to help early detection and prevention of any health conditions. These procedures include blood spot tests, screening for genetic conditions, hearing and congenital heart conditions.

Newborn Intensive Care Follow-up Clinic

Once your baby is ready to come home, we offer post-hospital care to monitor your baby's health and development at our follow-up clinics. Our team of specialists have expert knowledge and experience in ongoing care of babies with health conditions, and are here to support you and your baby as they grow and develop.
