Dr. Usama Mohammad AlBastaki is the Chair of Medical Imaging at Dubai Health, and brings over 20 years of experience in advancing radiology within the UAE. He is the General Secretary and former President of the Radiology Society of the Emirates, where he played an instrumental role in establishing world-class radiology conferences, boosting the UAE's global presence in the field of radiology.

Dr. AlBastaki has led pivotal national healthcare initiatives, including the UAE’s national radiology referral guidelines project, which was selected as a government accelerator in 2023 to enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient safety. Under his leadership, Rashid Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging department received the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Award for the Best Public Sector Medical Department in 2020.

Specializing in emergency and cardiac imaging, Dr. AlBastaki is also engaged in researching the integration of AI into national screening programs to enhance diagnostic capabilities. As a Clinical Associate Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University, he is dedicated to training the next generation of radiologists, reinforcing his commitment to safe, innovative, and patient-centered radiology practices.
