Dubai Civil Defense Delegation Explores Dubai Health’s Integrated Academic Health System
Dubai Civil Defense visited Dubai Health to learn about its leading role as the city’s first fully integrated academic health system. The visit aimed to explore opportunities for closer collaboration, enhance service quality, and strengthen strategic partnerships.
During the visit, key future plans and initiatives of Dubai Health were showcased, aimed at advancing health for humanity, and strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for healthcare services.
The delegation, led by His Excellency Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Civil Defense, included Major General Jamal bin Aded Al Muhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief, and Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Essa Ahmad Al Mutawa, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Smart Services. They were welcomed by Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health; Atif Albraiki, Chief Digital and AI Officer; Dr. Omar Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of Dubai Hospital; and Dr. Mansour Nadhari, Chair of Anaesthesia at Dubai Health.
During the visit, the delegation toured the Health Operations Center, which serves as the cornerstone for overseeing and managing patients’ journeys, from the moment they enter the healthcare system until the completion of treatment.
The tour also included Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, the learning and discovery arm of Dubai Health, the Center for Innovation and Technology, Al Jalila Foundation, the giving arm of Dubai Health, and the Biobank, which houses advanced technologies for genetic sample preservation and supports medical research.
His Excellency Lieutenant General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi commended Dubai Health for its efforts in advancing health for humanity through the adoption of the latest international standards and best medical practices, reflecting its commitment to building a healthcare system that meets the aspirations of the community.
He stated: “The achievements of Dubai Health contribute to strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading destination for integrated healthcare services. At the General Directorate of Civil Defense, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting this system by upholding the highest standards of safety and security across all its facilities, in order to safeguard lives and property.”
Dr. Amer Sharif expressed his appreciation for the delegation’s visit, emphasizing that it reflects the ongoing collaboration between Dubai Health and Civil Defense. He noted that the visit represents an important step toward enhancing integration in safety practices, ensuring an optimal working environment for healthcare professionals, and supporting continued efforts to elevate the patient experience, in line with Dubai Health’s “Patient First” promise.
