Our highly-specialized doctors, surgeons and nurses Stroke Medicine department are specifically trained in stroke diagnosis and treatment. If it is suspected that you have had a stroke, your condition will be urgently evaluated by emergency physicians using the latest neurological tests and diagnostic imaging techniques including CT and MRI. Our stroke team can then quickly and accurately determine the location, type and severity of your stroke. This allows us to immediately start appropriate treatment, which can involve medication or in some cases emergency neurosurgery is performed, when intervention is required to stop bleeding, and/or prevent fatal brain swelling.

Once you are stabilized, you will receive ongoing compassionate recovery care and continuous assessment from our multidisciplinary team, before planning any rehabilitation support you may need.
