Specialized care for teen-specific health
As a relatively new medical specialty in the region, Adolescent Medicine focuses on providing specialized care for young people, guiding them through this crucial stage of life. At our Adolescent Medicine clinic within Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, we’re dedicated to meeting the unique needs of children and teens aged 10 to 18, a time when medical, developmental, and emotional challenges often overlap.
In addition to comprehensive care for adolescents with chronic illnesses, we offer expert consultations for a wide range of teen-specific health issues. For adolescent girls, we address gynecologic and reproductive concerns such as menstrual conditions, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and other hormonal imbalances. We also provide compassionate care for teens dealing with obesity, eating disorders, and those navigating high-risk behaviors.
A multidisciplinary approach to your teen's physical and mental health care
Our team takes a multidisciplinary approach to ensure that both physical and mental health needs are listened to and supported. We understand that these years are a time of growth and change, and that it can be an overwhelming or confusing time. We’re here to provide evidence-based, compassionate care, and while we value parent involvement and open communication, part of your teen’s visit is confidential to encourage them to feel empowered when it comes to their health.
From their first visit to the transition into adult care, we're committed to supporting your teenager's health, building strong partnerships between the patient, parents, and healthcare specialists every step of the way.
