Welcome to the Blood Donation Center
Giving blood is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to make a difference in someone's life. Each blood donation has the potential to save up to three lives, providing healing and, in some cases, the gift of life, to people of all ages facing surgeries, recovering from trauma, requiring blood transfusions, or experiencing serious health conditions like cancer. Donating blood is safe, quick and easy, and it’s an expression of kindness and community spirit that can have an incredible impact on someone in need.
The Blood Donation Center, part of the Dubai Health network, has been Dubai’s primary blood donation center since opening in 1986. Accredited by AABB since 2012, we prioritize donor and patient safety, and service excellence. At our center, we provide a comfortable space for you to give blood, allowing you to contribute to maintaining a safe and ample blood supply for those in medical need. Through your support, we contribute approximately 50% of all of the UAE’s blood units, ensuring there is a continuous supply of safe, life-saving blood.
You can donate your blood at our center in Al Jaddaf, or at one of our mobile blood donation drives which visit many workplaces and communities throughout the emirate. Find out more about registering online as a blood donor on our Blood Donation Services page.

Types of Blood Donations
We offer three types of blood donations, each of these help different medical cases. All of our procedures are performed by highly-trained and licensed medical teams.
Whole Blood Donation
This is the most common form of blood donation where donors give 450ml (1 unit) of their blood. This procedure usually takes less than 1 hour, and can be repeated every 2 months if you are in good general health.
Platelets Donation
We extract the platelets from your blood to help people with clotting conditions, cancer, leukemia, and other medical conditions. During your screening process, we will assess you for eligibility. This procedure can take around 1.5 hours, but can be performed every 2 weeks.
Double Red Blood Cells Donation
During this procedure, we collect only the red blood cells, returning the other blood components to your body. The red blood cells collected are especially beneficial for people with severe anemia, undergoing surgery, or have experienced trauma. During your screening process, we will assess you for eligibility. This procedure can take around 1 - 1.5 hours, and can be performed every 16 weeks.
