What are blood and cord bank services?

Our Blood Donation Center opened in 1986, and has been Dubai’s primary blood donation center since then. We provide a comfortable space for donors to give blood, and contribute to maintaining a safe and continuous supply - vital in treating people who need blood due to surgeries, injuries, or certain medical conditions.

Before being securely banked, all donated blood is screened to ensure purity, and to categorize in order to match patients' blood types when needed.

Cord bank services

When babies are born here in the UAE, new parents have the option to collect and preserve their baby's umbilical cord blood. This blood is rich in stem cells, which can be carefully stored for potential future use to treat over 80 health conditions including leukemia, other blood disorders, and immune system conditions. 

This cord blood can be stored for many years, and the stems cells may be used for future transplantation treatment for the baby, and in some cases for family members who have a genetic match.
